My involvement with various professional medical associations highlights my commitment to advancing the field of neurosurgery, particularly in areas related to stereotactic and functional neurosurgery, neuromodulation, and patient education. My roles include:

Vice President of the Middle-Eastern Society for Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery a continental chapter of the World Society for Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery, where I contribute to the advancement of neurosurgical techniques and patient outcomes across the Middle East and Africa.

President of the Neuromodulation Technologies Research, Development and Patient Education Association where my leadership focuses on pioneering research, technological development, and enhancing patient knowledge and care protocols in neuromodulation.

Vice President of the Neuromodulation Research and Education Association  the Turkish chapter of the International Neuromodulation Society, dedicated to fostering research and education in neuromodulation within Turkey and beyond.

Board Member of the Deep Brain Stimulation and Movement Disorder Surgery Association contributing to the development and dissemination of best practices and innovative treatments for movement disorders and Deep Brain Stimulation surgery.
 

Board Member of the Stereotactic Functional, Pain and Epilepsy Group of the Turkish Neurosurgical Association focusing on enhancing surgical techniques and treatment protocols for movement disorders, pain management and epilepsy.
 

Chairman of the Turkish Neurosurgery Association Foreign Relations Committee where I oversee international collaborations and partnerships, enhancing the global presence and impact of Turkish neurosurgery. Furthermore, through this responsibility, I aim to foster collaboration with partners globally, offering my colleagues who seek to enhance their knowledge an opportunity to come here and find the means to do so.

These roles allow me to play a pivotal part in the advancement of Neuromodulation ineterventions especially Deep Brain Stimulation surgeries, both in Turkey and worldwide, through collaborative research, education, and clinical practice improvement initiatives.

This society is pivotal in improving quality of life for patients with neurological conditions by harnessing the power of innovative therapeutic approaches. Atilla YILMAZ holds the position of Vice President within the Turkish Chapter of the INS.
 

European Society for Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery (ESSFN)

The ESSFN stands at the forefront of promoting and supporting the fields of stereotactic and functional neurosurgery across European borders. Its initiatives are geared towards elevating standards of clinical practice, pioneering research, and educational ventures in the specialty.

Middle-eastern Society for Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery (MESSFN)

With a focus on the Middle East, MESSFN is a regional powerhouse initiating collaboration and knowledge-sharing among neurosurgical professionals. It concentrates on the region-specific advancement of stereotactic and functional neurosurgery. Atilla YILMAZ holds the position of Vice President of the MSSFN.
 

International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society (MDS)

The MDS propels the frontiers of research, education, and patient care specific to movement disorders. This organization is synonymous with cutting-edge advancements and nurturing expertise in Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders.

Deep Brain Stimulation and Movement Disorder Surgery Association

This association focuses on the specific surgical interventions used in treating movement disorders, particularly through deep brain stimulation (DBS). It is a forum for specialists to exchange knowledge, develop best practices, and discuss the latest advancements in the field. The organization plays a crucial role in advancing the understanding and application of DBS to improve the lives of patients with movement disorders. Atilla YILMAZ holds the position of board member of this society.

Turkish Neurosurgical Society (TNDer)

Turkey’s medical landscape benefits from the TNDer, which is deeply committed to the enhancement and dissemination of neurosurgical practices. Through educational programs, training, and rigorous research, it aims to elevate neurosurgical care in the country. Atilla Yılmaz holds the prestigious position of Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee at the Turkish Neurosurgery Association. Additionally, he is a respected Board member of the Stereotactic Functional, Pain, and Epilepsy group within the same association.
